Joel Levine leads the Philharmonic in a classical concert with a mission. Joining the orchestra for Symphony No. 2 by Borodin will be selected young musicians who will sit "Side By Side" with the Philharmonic members for the performance. Selected by audition, the young musicians are members of the Oklahoma Youth Symphony and the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra.
In addition, violinist Richard Linn makes his debut with the OKC Philarmonic performing a movement from the Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius. Linn will enter the Curtis Conservatory of Music in the fall and has studied for three years with Philharmonic concertmaster, Dr. Gregory :Lee. He the overall winner of the Buttram Scholarship competition of the Oklahoma City Orchestra League and was invited to perform by Maestro Levine.
